JANUARY 21st Sevier County Co-Op the 3rd Saturday of each month -
We will be at the Sevier County Co-Op with adoptable pets and information about the shelter and Spay/Neuter from 9am - 2pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Please come by and see our wonderful adoptable pets this month on Saturday, January 21st.
FEBRUARY IS NATIONAL PREVENT A LITTER MONTH -
We encourage all pet owners to Spay/Neuter their pets to help prevent pet overpopulation.
February 18th Sevier County Co-Op the 3rd Saturday of each month -
We will be at the Sevier County Co-Op with adoptable pets and information about the shelter and Spay/Neuter from 9am - 2pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Please come by and see our wonderful adoptable pets this month on Saturday, February 18th.

Help us help others to Spay/Neuter their pets. A donation to our SPOT program helps to reduce pet over-population in Sevier County.

March 31st - Cash One Spring Event, Saturday 10am - 3pm
This event is another wonderful opportunity for us to raise awareness and funds to help our shelter and the animals they care for. In addition to our regular event items, information on the shetler, spay/neuter and adoptable animals, this event will also be an opportunity for the many talented and 'crafty' folks in our community to come sell their crafts and donate all or portions of their proceeds to the shelter. Cash One and the other businesses in the "strip mall" across from Food City in Sevierville, off Dolly Parton Pkwy, are providing space for vendors/individuals, at no charge, for those vendors and individuals who want to donate proceeds from their sales to the shelter.
APRIL IS PREVENT ANIMAL CRUELTY MONTH -
If you see or suspect animal cruelty, please contact your local animal control or shelter as soon as possible.
April 14th - April 20th Belk Charity Event Sale
The Sevier County Humane Society will be selling tickets for the April 21st, Belk Charity Event Sale.
We will be selling Belk Charity Sale Tickets in front of the Belk store beginning Saturday, April 14th through Friday, April 20th, 10am to 3pm. (Sunday, Noon to 3pm)
During some of those times we will have adoptable animals at our booth.
Below are the details on how the sale is a win-win for you and the Humane Society:
1. When you purchase a $5.00 ticket from us, the Sevier County Humane Society keeps the full $5.00
2. As the the ticket holder, you will receive $5.00 off your purchase during the sale, including cosmetics, AND receive
additional discounts on your purchases, some items up to 70% off during the sale
3. If you are one of the first 100 ticket holders in the door at Belk the morning of the sale, you will receive a Belk gift card
worth from $5.00 to $1,000.
4. Be sure to check with us on the opportunities to pre-shop and pre-buy your items with the sale discounts prior to the
actual date of the sale.

APRIL 28th - Buy Local Yard Sale 8am - 4pm -
Please join us at the Sevier County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 28th from 8am - 4pm. Don't miss your opportunity to find hidden treasures at our 4th annual Buy Local Sale on Saturday, April 28th, at the Sevier County Fairgrounds.
Whether you have something you are searching for, or you are an avid "garage/rummage saler", this is the event for you. Or maybe you have some unwanted items or something you want to get out of your house/garage or storage space, here is your opportunity to donate it to a great cause.
We will gladly accept your donation of unwanted items for our annual sale. You may bring your items to us at the Sevier County Fairgrounds beginning Monday, April 23rd through Friday, April 27th between 11am and 5pm. If you are unable to wait until April 23rd to drop off your items, please contact Cheryl Morgan at 865-453-1780 or via E-mail at cherylmorgan@bellsouth.net to coordinate an alternate drop off location and time.
We are also renting booth space with tables on a first come basis for the sale as follows: $25 per booth which includes 2 tables in a 13 X13 space, no electricity. To reserve your booth, your check made out to the Sevier County Humane Society must be received. Please mail your check to: 222 Timberlodge Lane, Sevierville, Tn 37862. Once received you will be contacted with your booth reservation #.
MAY 6 - 12 IS BE KIND TO ANIMALS WEEK -

May 18th and 19th - Bloomin' BBQ and Bluegrass Festival
Come see us again this year at the Bloomin' BBQ and Bluegrass Festival in downtown Sevierville. Mountain National Bank has generously donated booth space to us, so look for their name on the booth canopy and we'll be there. We'll have some great pet T-shirts, neck coolers, and other fun items for you and your pet. Come on down and enjoy the great food and entertainment, and see how you can help us help the needy animals of Sevier County and get information on Spay/Neuter. Hope to see ya'll there!

JUNE IS ADOPT A SHELTER CAT MONTH -
If you have room in your home and heart, we have cats waiting for a forever home!
June 1 7 am to 9 am - Greyhound Breakfast at Mynatt Park in Gatlinburg -
The Greyhound rescue organization holds an annual multi-day gathering/event in Gatlinburg.
As a way of helping our Sevier County Humane Society, on Friday morning, June 1st, we have been asked to sell breakfast items to the attendees (the dog owners, not the dogs themselves). We will be selling orange juice, coffee, homemade muffins, and microwaving Jimmy Dean sausage & egg biscuits.
This is a fun event in that all the attendees are greyhound dog owners with their dogs & this
is all about the greyhounds. After eating their breakfast, the owners that is, there are fun events for the dogs, even one where the dogs get to run and their speed is clocked by a hand held meter.
JUNE 16th Sevier County Co-Op the 3rd Saturday of each month - We will be at the Sevier County Co-Op with adoptable pets and information about the shelter and Spay/Neuter from 9am - 2pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Please come by and see our wonderful adoptable pets this month on Saturday, June 16th.
June 23rd - Saturday 8:30am - 11am Gatlinburg Farmers Market
We have been invited to join the Gatlinburg Farmers Market on Saturday, June 23rd.
The Farmers Market will be located in the parking lot for the Alamo restaurant in
Gatlinburg, on hwy 321.
Weather permitting, we will have adoptable dogs/cats at this event. We will also be
sharing information about our shelter, spay/neuter and selling t-shirts, neck coolers & tote bags.
July 4th 10:00AM - 10:00PM - Independence Day Hot Dog Sale at Patriot Park -
This is another fun event and great way to hear the entertainment & see the fireworks. We will be cooking and selling hot dogs all day for this event. It's a great time and a great fundraiser. Please ask your family and friends to stop by our booth and celebrate the 4th of July with a traditional hot dog (or two).

AUGUST 18th is NATIONAL HOMELESS ANIMALS DAY -
Thousands of homeless animals are counting on us. Please do what you can to help.....make sure your pet is spayed/neutered, encourage others to spay/neuter, adopt a pet, donate to your local shelter....help make a difference in an animals life.

September 8th at Noon(Registration at 11:30) - Sevier County Fair Dog Show -
The Sevier County Humane Society hosts the Sevier County Fair Dog Show on Saturday, September 8th, noon at the Fairgrounds. Come join the fun and show off your pride and joy at the the Sevier County Fair Dog Show. This is an excellent opportunity for dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages to strut their stuff!
This event encourages everyone, including children and parents, to participate in showing their dogs in a number of categories including:Best Dressed, Best Trick, Largest Dog, Smallest Dog, Best Dog-Owner Look a Like, A Face Only a Mother Could Love, Most Obedient
Ribbons and prizes will be awarded. Registration begins at 11:30am.
September 15th - Pittman Center Heritage Day Dog Show -
The Sevier County Humane Society is hosting the Pittman Center Heritage Day Dog Show. (Time to be determined.)
Come join the fun and show off your pride and joy at the the Pittman Center Heritage Day Dog Show. This is an excellent opportunity for dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages to strut their stuff!
This event encourages everyone, including children and parents, to participate in showing their dogs
in a number of categories including: Best Dressed, Best Trick, Largest Dog, Smallest Dog, Best Dog-Owner Look a Like, A Face Only a Mother Could Love, Most Obedient
Ribbons and prizes will be awarded.

We have been invited to join the Sevier County Co-Op Customer Day event. Come on out for some fun and food and check out our booth and adoptable pets. We'll have information on the shelter, spay/neuter as well as T-shirts, and miscellaneous items for sale. We hope you can make it....it should be fun!

Senior dogs and cats make excellent pets and are waiting for forever homes too.
NOVEMBER 4 - 10 IS NATIONAL SHELTER APPRECIATION WEEK -
Your local shelter is there 365 days a year serving the animals in your area. Please let them know you care.

DECEMBER 1 - Annual Champagne Auction -
Our annual Champagne Auction is the largest fund raiser the Humane Society holds each year.
It is a great event that draws animal lovers together for good food, lots of fun and an opportunity to help the homeless animals in Sevier County.
Artists and Local Businesses, Restaurants, Hotels, Attractions and Theaters generously donate beautiful art, merchandise and gift cards/certificates that are grouped into themed baskets and offered for live and silent auction. It is held the first Saturday in December at the Sevierville Civic Center and is a great opportunity for people to start their Christmas shopping and to hear Sally tell a joke.
To donate to the 2012 Champagne Auction or for tickets, please call the Animal Shelter at 453-7000. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to the animals. Hope to see you there!!

DECEMBER 19th - 24TH - 4th Annual Christmas Gift Wrap -
We will be available to wrap your Christmas gifts starting Friday, December 14th, through Monday, December 24th, from 10am -6pm at Pigeon River Crossing Mall (formerly Belz Outlet Mall) on Teaster Lane in Pigeon Forge. For a $2 donation per package your gifts will be beautifully wrapped with handmade bows. 100% of the proceeds from the gift wrap benefit the Sevier County Humane Society. We hope you'll come by and let us wrap your gifts. You can even drop them off and come back later to pick them up if you are in rush.
